The Exciting Writing for Radio course was aimed
at creative writers who were mindful of the evocative power of
radio and motivated by the exacting technical constraints of radio
writing.
For example, radio writers must develop particular skills for
gaining and maintaining the attention of listeners who are not
necessarily as committed as, say, those who have paid for a theatre
ticket. At the same time, radio writing offers opportunities for
conceiving imaginative aural landscapes that are beyond the reach
of visual media.
