The Exciting Factual
Writing course was intended for students with some experience
of creative writing who wished to explore specific technical
writing skills in greater depth: setting an historical or otherwise
factual context for their creative writing: biography, history,
historical fiction, research-based essays, etc.
Teaching covered all the requisite skills for
such projects: preparing and conducting research, drawing inferences
and conclusions from factual information, and achieving an effective
blend of creative and analytical methods and materials.
